Ford Upcoming cars by Autoporta

Most of the carmakers are expecting to do even better in the year 2015. Auto majors are riding on some new products – Ford is one of them. The last new car from the Ford stable in India was the Fiesta, and this was a few years ago. Ford is now geared up to come out with a few cars. Let us take a look at a few.
Ford Figo Sedan was unveiled as a concept and was launched in the Brazilian market in 2014. The Indian version is expected to be a sub-4 metre vehicle. Known as the Aspire, this sub-compact sedan is expected to be offered with two engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. In the continuously growing sub-compact sedan segment, Aspire will take on the likes of established players like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze along with the Tata Zest and Hyundai Xcent. The expected launch is in the middle of 2015 and the expected price is Rs. 5 lakh-Rs. 7.50 lakh.

The Ford is ready with the new generation of their Figo.  The company has already launched the product in Brazil, and it will arrive in India in 2015. The new-gen Figo gets a honeycomb grille, but otherwise the front end remains the same. The head-lights receive a mirror element. The new Figo is expected to be continued to be powered by the existing engine options - 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol in India. There will also be a 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine.
The new-gen Ford Endeavour SUV is based on the Ford's Edge design philosophy. This new-gen Endeavour is expected to be more upmarket than its predecessor and to enhance its off-roading capabilities, the company has developed it on a new ladder frame chassis. The inclusion of a new independent coil-spring layout at the rear instead of the leaf spring setup found in the current model will increase the drivability. The new terrain management system (TMS) allows the driver to select pre-adjust settings like normal, snow/grass, sand and rock, while driving. The new Endeavour could get the existing 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre diesel units. Reports say that Ford has been testing the 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre mills for India. Ford might replace the existing 5-speed manual and automatic gearboxes with a 6-speed transmission.
Ford is bringing out a right hand driver version - the Ford Mustang. The Indian Mustang will be powered by a 4-cylinder and a turbocharged engine. Ford India will launch the Mustang in three engine options - a 2.3-litre EcoBoost, a 3.7 V6 and a 5.0-litre V8. All the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. It will be price around the Rs. 50 lakh mark.
